Who we work with 

We currently work with 3 London Ark Academy schools:
- Putney Ark Academy
​- Evelyn Grace Ark Academy
- London Academy of Excellence
- Burlington Danes Ark Academy

We work with a sponsor from each school to help us to coordinate and identify the students who would benefit most from the opportunity.

We work with 6th form students (16-18 years). The charity funds all aspects of the programme, including getting trainees down to the coast.

How it works 

At the beginning of the year one of our trustees visits each of the schools we work with to speak to the students about the Shadowfax Racing programme and encourage them to sign up.

All the interested students are invited to attend a Taster Day down on the coast on our Sigma 33 yachts, to try sailing and see if it is for them.

If they enjoy the Taster Day and want to do more, they can sign up for the full programme of 5 days (on either Saturdays or Sundays).
In line with the latest Government rules, we have postponed our Summer sailing programme.  We are however planning to be back on the water at the next opportunity so will update our website and Facebook pages and get in touch by email newsletter. 

A typical programme looks a bit like this: 

Day 1.        Taster Day
Day 2.        Intro to sailing. 
Day 3.        Developing Sailing Skills
Day 4.        Intro to Racing
Day 5.        Honing skills and preparing for race day. 
Day 6.        Race Day!
